How to use the Branding Feature

Here is how you set up brands!

**note, we say to put the description as “application for my business…” But you should actually say APPLICATION FOR MY BUSINESS USING MARKETMETWEET.

Remember, you also have to add your twitter account.  Then you can simply pick which twitter account goes with which brand, like below:

Q: It says my brand is already used?

A: If you’ve set up your brand with tweetbrand, then just go into twitter.com/apps to paste in your consumer key and secret.

  • Hi I joined yesterday for the $39.
The video’s I can see are so small I really am having trouble getting started.
Is there at least the first vid so I can get going because so far twitter doesn’t accept me in.
    Thanks,
    Tom Shea

  • Just a heads-up regarding which URL to put in. My advice is to NOT put in a simple Landing Page, but a FULL website; you can always experiment with a custom landing page within that site if you’re looking for an opt-in, like I am.

But – a word of warning: yesterday, I put in a simple one-page site with a video, and Twitter suspended the application.

Note – my Twitter account itself is fine, BUT, I think folks need to be careful if they are branding themselves with this branding feature, that the destination URL for the application doesn’t come across as ’spammy’.

    Example:
BEFORE: I *was* using: http://nowskip.to/PremierInternetEducation as my application URL (and Twitter suspended the app).

AFTER: Now I am using: http://www.BlackBoxBusiness.com/frequently-asked-questions/

..which is a more ‘friendly’ blog (but watch out for the opt-in box when you try to close the page!!).

Note: Sorry for the blatent sales pitch in the above, but there is a point to the detail here, in that I reckon Twitter is on the lookout for what some might call spammy behavior & others just might call assertive marketing.

I know where I stand in that spectrum, but obviously with the recent FTC rules, it’s important to stay friends with Twitter as much as possible.

In summary, then, my advice is:

DON’T use a simple Landing Page with no depth of content (ie other pages to link to)

DO use a *full Blog* that you might customize with a Landing Page that might have a different style sheet.

Although that might seem a bit subtle, in reality what Twitter is looking for is useful content, I believe.

At the moment, they are being pretty generous in what they allow people to jump off to – BUT I believe that’s ONLY because they are trying to sort out the spam & scam mess which could threaten to relegate Twitter to a social media backwater, and that is something that Biz Stone would *not* want…

  • Twitter suspended my application as well, even though the link was to my blog and not a squeeze page or one-page landing page.

Does anyone have any other thoughts on why Twitter suspends applications?

  • Hola!

Just bought MMT after resarching it. Love the branding feature. But I just did my first post and it says “…via(my website) with MarketMeTweet”

No offense but I’m not sure if I want the “MarketMeTweet” on there. I bought it thinking it would NOT be on there.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks!
